Beijer Electronics and its Vietnamese distribution partner, Air Vacuum Automation Vietnam Company Limited, signed a cooperation agreement with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering on Oct. 15 to expand industrial automation education and industry collaboration.
The partnership covers technical training, student projects, research and practical learning, aiming to help students develop engineering skills relevant to manufacturing.
The agreement was signed at HCM-UTE, with representatives from all three organizations attending.
The collaboration will combine Beijer Electronics' expertise in industrial automation, human-machine interface (HMI) technology, digitalization and smart manufacturing with HCM-UTE's academic programs in electrical and electronics engineering and automation.
Activities will include technical workshops, research projects and industry engagement to give students greater exposure to industrial technologies and their manufacturing applications.
Beijer Electronics also expect the partnership may create future opportunities for student internships, industry exposure, and student exchange activities. It said these initiatives could help students gain practical experience and better understand the skills required in the industrial automation sector.
Ali Rezaei, Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing at Beijer Electronics, said the partnership would help prepare engineering students for changes in manufacturing. According to him, it is essential that students gain exposure not only to technology but also to real-world industrial challenges and opportunities.
"Through the collaboration with HCM-UTE and AVA, we are committed to sharing knowledge, experience, and innovation, helping the next generation of engineers build the skills and confidence needed to drive meaningful progress in our industry," Ali Rezaei said.
At the event, Beijer Electronics also held a seminar for students and faculty members on its products and technologies, as well as developments in industrial automation and smart manufacturing.
The three organizations inaugurated the Beijer Electronics Lab, which will support hands-on training and collaboration between the university and industry.
Associate Professor Le My Ha, Dean of HCM-UTE's Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, said the university is committed to developing engineering professionals who possess both strong academic foundations and practical industry skills. This partnership with Beijer Electronics and AVA can create valuable opportunities for their students and faculty to engage with advanced industrial technologies, collaborative research, and hands-on learning experiences.
"We believe this cooperation will contribute significantly to preparing future engineers for the evolving demands of modern manufacturing and automation," he said.
He added that the cooperation would help prepare graduates for changing requirements in manufacturing and automation.
Beijer Electronics develops technologies for industrial visualization, automation and digitalization, including solutions for machine operations and manufacturing processes.
The partners plan to expand technical training, research cooperation and practical learning opportunities, strengthening links between HCM-UTE and industry while supporting the development of skilled workers for Vietnam's manufacturing and automation sectors.
